Competition Signing in Procedure March 2018 – October 2018

What is happening?

The Captain’s Committee have decided to roll out the allocation of a tee time to Members when they enter a competition on a Saturday during the summer golfing season. This decision was after considering all feedback from the pilot and the results of the Member Satisfaction Survey, where a clear majority were in favour of the changes.

When will it start?

We will start on Saturday 10th March 2018.

What does it mean for Members?

All three of your playing group will need to be present and have paid before a tee time can be allocated.

Tee times will be allocated at ten-minute intervals. The Bar and Restaurant will be available from 8 am every Saturday so that you can have something to eat or drink.

If you wish to play in a 4 ball you may do this after 2pm.

What will it Cost?

Entry fee will be £5 which will include £3.50 for the competition and £1.50 for the ball draw.

We will continue to monitor how these changes work during the summer and will look to make changes based on member feedback as and when appropriate.

If you have any queries regarding these changes you can speak to the Club Manager or the Captain, who will be happy to help.

FAQ’s

Why have the Captain’s Committee decided to change the competition sign in procedure?

To enable the professional to manage the first tee effectively and reduce the amount of two balls on the course. Slow play has been a major issue and was highlighted in the Members Survey and was greatly improved during the competition trial last year.

When can you sign into the competition?

On the day of the competition, all three players must be in the shop and pay at the same time. If you only have two plays a tee time can be given and Pro Shop staff will endeavour to add a third player where possible. You can enter the competition up to 1 hour before your tee time.

How much is the competition entry?

The entry fee is £5 (£1.50 two’s and £3.50 sweep). Please note the two’s forms part of the competition fee and is not optional.

How is the scorecard entered into the competition?

It is the players’ responsibility to enter their scorecard into the competition via the player entry (located in the main bar) and deposit their card into the box below. All cards have to be entered to enable us to get an accurate Competition Standard Scratch (CSS)

When will competition results be finalised?

The Pro shop finalise all results on the Sunday morning following the competition and upload the results to the relevant handicap software and a hard copy is put on the notice board. All winnings are paid onto members’ shop accounts.
